20 pages of calculations and assumptions create this project. Working in groups of three students build off of their space colonization project from Pre - Calculus by expanding on the topics using derivatives and integrals. The project consists of three components that required a lot of thinking on our part along with knowledge from our math teacher. It was a difficult project aside from its length because I struggled with some of the topics including incorporating my knowledge of calculus with real life. I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to make a formula from a situation. Thankfully I had two partners that struggled with me at times and we would hash out different ideas and teach each other until we found our answer.
Jay Gould
This is a literary essay on a robber baron in the 1920's that I worked on with a partner. I like our hook which was a play on his name. We did rather well and became interested in the man we researched. We decided to choose a man we did not know and was rarely taught so that it would be a new experience for us and by doing so we found out many different things about Gould. Some I still remember while others I need to re read my essay to recall. This essay was rather enjoyable to make due to all of this.
Isabel Allende
Author study was a class where we focused on one author that has written a book that has become apart of a literary canon. We had to read two books by the same author and create a thesis encompassing both books. We pulled evidence from a variety of documents such as written reviews by professors and the books themselves. It was rather difficult to incorporate the second book into the essay when there was already this idea focusing on the first book and so I struggled with that and did not do as well as I would have liked. It was still a good experience and an interesting class that forced me to think critically with every comment I heard.
